Hvad gør man?
Bestemt ikke et billede til Pinterest! - En uges affald!
Definitely not a photo for Pinterest! One week of trash!
Here, where I live, we have a very good container place for sorting all sorts of trash. Our janitors are keeping it nice, and most users are also doing a good job. There are containers for plastic, cardboard, metal, hazardous waste, glass, big items (furniture, freezers etc.) and a container for small gods to be burned. The furniture is put in a section, so anyone can take it, if they want it, and there is a book-exchange-closet.
Some years ago, when we were told to start sorting our trash, it took some time to get used to, but it isn't difficult. Except from...
... I am shocked, how much plastic packing, I generate!
Now when I am sorting, this has become very clear. I fill up 1 whole bag of plastic wrappings a week. Almost the same goes for the cardboard trash! My organic trash is about 1/10 of that! And I am just a ordinary consumer.
How can I avoid this? It isn't possible for me to shop anywhere using my own containers, unless I go on a trip of 10 km one way and 10 km back home, and bulk shopping isn't a solution either, because I don't have a car.
I buy organic and/or Danish products when possible, and everything is wrapped in plastic!
It's fine, that we all sort our plastic and cardboard etc, but it doesn't solve the problem, when we produce more and more of it.
How do we make the producers used degradable wrapping? Which organizations can be contacted? Where do you go and become part of the solution?
What can one do?
