I min bog 'Ryd Dig Op' fik jeg lov til at bringe en liste over de ting, som mesterkokken Erwin Lauterbach anbefaler, og den er på 40 stykker køkkengrej - undtaget tallerkner, glas, bestik og kopper! Og når han ikke har brug for mere, så har jeg i hvert fald heller ikke!
Før oprydningen skal du sørge for at have nogle kasser hjemme til at pakke overskydende ting ned i.
Selve oprydningen skal begynde med, at man rydder alt - ALT - ud af køkkenskabene... og så er det jo en fantastisk ide at vaske skabene af, når man nu er i gang. Det bliver så lækkert bagefter.
Og så skal der vælges 'til', som beskrevet i foregående blogpost. Du sætter alle de ting, du bruger på regelmæssig basis tilbage i skabene og lægger resten i kasser.
F.eks. kan du glemme alt om 4 røreskåle. Det er ikke nødvendigt. Én stor skål, man kan bruge til alt, og en stål-skål til kolde ting. Dubletter behøves ikke!
Tallerkner, glas, kopper, krus og bestik skal sorteres. Det er meget pladsbesparende, at disse ting har samme størrelse og design. Ikke fordi det behøver at være noget særligt, men fordi det fylder mindre og er meget mere overskueligt.
I vores køkkener sniger der sig ofte 'minder' ind. Noget man har arvet eller fået. Hvis du ikke bruger det, så giv det videre til en, der vil bruge det. Hvis en ting ikke bliver brugt, er den ligegyldigt. Det er køkkengrej = værktøj, og hvis det ikke har et formål, tager det bare plads op.
Vaffeljernet, som du bruger én gang om året? Måske skulle du overveje, om det ikke er sjovere at indføre en vafffel-tur-tradition med familien den ene gang om året, og så lade pladsen i skabet blive brugt til noget andet. Dette er selvfølgelig kun ment som et eksempel på køkkenudstyr, som vi kun bruger en gang om året eller med meget store intervaller.
Pak alt det overskydende ned i kasser, og det er så nu, at du bestemmer, om du har temperament til at afhænde det til genbrug med det samme, eller om du hellere vil sætte det i kælder eller garage i et par måneder. Hvis du gør det sidste, så husk at sætte en dato for afhændelse i kalenderen, så det ikke bare - igen - bliver en ophobning af ting, bare et andet sted.
God fornøjelse - du vil elske resultatet! Jo mindre du har i skabene, jo lettere er det at holde orden. Og ikke mindst så meget lettere at lave mad!

And then - like described in the previous blog post - you have to choose with a 'yes'. You choose all the things, which you use on a regular basis and put the rest into the boxes.
As an example you can forget all about having 4 bowls. It isn't necessary. One big one, you can use for everything and a steel bowl for cold dishes. You don't need duplicates.
Dishes, glasses, cups, mugs and cutlery should be sorted. It is space saving, if things have the same size and design. Not because these things have to be something special, but because it takes up less space.
Sometimes 'memories' sneak into our kitchens. An item you have inherited or a gift. If you don't use it, send it away to someone, who will use it. If an items isn't used, then it doesn't matter. Kitchen stuff = tools, and if it hasn't got a purpose, it just takes up space.

Pack everything else in the boxes, and it is now, you will decide, wether you have the temperament to send it to a 2nd hand shop immidiately, or if you rahter will put it away for a couple of months in the garage or basement. If you choose the last option, please remember to put a date for the disposal in your calendar, so the boxes do not - again - become a hoarder pile, just in another place.
Have fun - you will love the result! Less stuff in the cabinets makes it so much easier to keep everything in order. Not to mention so much easier to cook!
