My 11 year old Vuitton Noé. It has taken some beatings during time, and it can take a lot more.
Girls Lunch: One of my friends had celebrated, what we call a 'round' birthday (the number is ending on 0). On that occation her family had collected the money for a Vuitton bag, which she had wanted for years. She was so happy, when she said:
"I have never dreamt about that I would own such an expensive bag. I would never be able to afford buying one myself".
I very much felt commenting on this, but as the atmosphere was great, I kept my mouth shut.
But I was thinking about all the times, we had been together, where she had bought a nice t-shirt, 'something' for the home, a new bath mat, a scented candle (which for some reason is ridiculously expensive! Why? For crying out loud - it is stearin with perfume! - sorry, of course a totally different story. I just godt carried away), nice bed linen, a couple of pillows for the sofa, some 'cheap' earrings, etc.
One thing after another without signifigance was carried into her home. She could have bought the bag many years ago for the amount of the money she wasted on worthless things. And then she could have enjoyed owning it since many years. But now she is happy!
So look around and see, if your (less considered) purchases chould have given you something, which you really want. That is, if you hadn't bought them!
Maybe you cannot have everything you want - but you can save for the things you really want!
I will come back to that with an experience of my own - a savings story with a twist.
