Men at shoppe vil jo aldrig give mening.
Has she got a point? Is that, why we buy and buy? Is it because marketing people today feeds our heads with the feeling that we get more beautiful, more happy, more trendy, makes us feel more rich, more lovable, og is it to close a void, which yells, that our everyday lives are meaningless?
But shopping will never give any meaning. Only 2 factors do:
- The people, we surrounds us with
- and the thing we do.
That is why many of us don't look inwards - dare not look inwards. But it also hurt too much not to, when we find out, that a high salary, status and a 60+ hours work week maybe gives the possibily to buy a lot of nice stuff and holidays a couple of times a year (a flight?), but that our weekdays are a straightjacket. We have to ask ourselves:
- Are we thriving in our everyday life? - because that is taking up most of our time!
- When do we really feel good?
- Where are we, when we really feel good?
- What are we doing, when we feel really good?
- Who are we together with, when we feel really good?
- - and what can we do about it?
Because that is where we have to go. The 'place' where we feel really good. And that is guaranteed not pushing a shopping cart in front of us.
Some of the answers could be: Is it so important to maintain a certain living standard? Could we do with less or something else? Would it make space for something more important? More time with family and friends? More time off for experiences? More mindful days? A new job?
Do we want to live a rich life, or do we want to live a life, which looks rich?
