Penge, der kunne have været brugt bedre.

tilbage. Over dine penge, din tid og pladsen i dit hjem. Det er en fantastid følelse!
Have you ever asked yourself, HOW you can go on 'needing' something? How you can keep having a wishlist?
No matter who you are - I dare say no matter, since you are sitting reading this blog - I am sure that you have a home.
You probably have a bed, table, chairs, lounge chair, shelves with books, closets with clothes and stuff, a kitchen with everything needed for cooking. You probably have bed linen, towels and a bath robe. Food and drinks in the fridge etc.
I know that it is not like that for everybody - not even here in Denmark - but most of the Western world doesn't suffer. So I will continue without hesitation.
What is it then, that makes us keep buying stuff?
Some of it is the power of advertising. We are overwhelmed with ads everywhere. It is said, that we see 3000 ads every day. If we should avoid them, we should stay indoors, not watch tv or hear the radion, not open the laptop etc. We should also avoid seeing other people, because we see, what others get, and then we want the same.

We accept that somebody tell us, at we need this new car, this new perfume, the deodorant etc., which will make us happy! And even though we know for sure, that it is totally nonsense, we buy anyway!
But why do we do it, when we know better?
But why do we do it, when we know better?
Because we all have triggers. I know, that if I am tired and haven't had enough sleep, then I get hungry at 11 p.m., and I go to the kitchen and eat something, which isn't good for me, instead of going to bed. That's my food-trigger.
I am sure, that there also is a 'shopping-trigger'. But what is it?
Is it happening, when you read magazines? When you se a smart looking person on the train? When yiy are you sad? Do you just 'need' something? Your friend bought something new? Boredom?

Sometimes you go to the mall with a friend without any plans of buying anything, but stuff just 'drops' into your plastic bag without further thinking. Maybe you top it with a latté and something to eat, and this can become quite a big amount every month, if you go shopping a couple of times a week. Money you could have spent betterr.
It might not even be clothes or make-up, which makes the money disappear. It can be a hobby, which demands new updated gadgets. Or a collection, which you can expand all the time. You might love to go to a flea market and make a 'good purchase', and even though buying secondhand and lower prices is a good idea, it is an expense, when you just 'fell for something'.
Try to find out what situation you are in, when your shopping desire releases.
Realise, that you already have, what you need and that you want to spend your money more deliberate - for something big so you really feel, that you have get something. Not just a new t-shirt or a pair of pants, or the new designer vase, everybody is talking about.
If you learn to control your shopping - become consious about what you really need, then it is you, who decide, how your money are spent, and which things that are entering your house - and not some 'stylish' ads, which makes you feel that you are missing something, and that you have to buy a certain product to be happy.
Not only that - you also take action to stop the senseless comsumer feast, which doesn't benefit anybody - except the ones speculating in it!
You take the power back. Over your money, your time and the space in your home. That is a fantastic feeling!
