Beautifil, but not for me
When I look back, I don't understand, that I wasn't wiser! Me - of all persons - should have walked my talk'. I let my love for good crafts run off with me, and I let a massive marketing campaign effect me. Thismis about my Wishbone-chair. Or the one I once had, which I sold for two reasons:
- Because I didn't sit well in it. Not critics of the chair, but it's shape and the shape of my back didn't match, and it is essential to sit well in all of your chairs.
- And because I all of a sudden felt, that the chair wasn't 'me'. I don't want to live in a home, which is decorated with 'icons'. I think that it becomes to un-personal.
I always get excited, when I see personal decorated homes, and there isn't much personal touch anymore about 6 Wishbone-chairs around a table. You see it everywhere. Nothing wrong about that, and it is entirely my opinion, but maybe it could be more fun to do something, which really means something for you AND is functioning.
When you want something, which means an economic investment, you really should take your time to make thorough research. Forget everything about decorating magazines. Go hunting instead. Look at all shops, vintage or not, and other real homes, which gives you a good feeling. Buy, what you want. We shouldn't decorate furniture exhibitions. We should build homes!
I learned from that experience - and lost a bit of money! So I don't think, that I will forget that lesson!
