In MetroXpress (A Danish newspaper) you could last week read that 22% of all Danes don't look forward to Christmas. It is more than one fifth. The reason should be that the expectations are too high, you have to participate in too many family gatherings, and it drains the economy. But it's all something you can control yourself! Gather the family and decide, how the month should be spent. How many parties you want to participate in and with whom, and sort all unimportant things away. Regarding the economy it goes without saying that you should never buy bigger presents than you can afford. Many presents do not give anyone more happiness. Presents well thought out do. This is not easy, and you probably have to swallow some 'camels', but don't spend this month with duty traditions. You should be kind to others - and to yourself. So try driving in 1st gear all month - and enjoy!
